Beep. Beep. Beep. Flustered, I shot out of my chair and headed to clear yet another paper jam. Though only a few feet away, I managed to mutter my frustration in five languages – four of which I don’t even understand!
Short on time and emptied of patience, my day didn’t have room for paper jams. I needed this printout – two days ago. I tugged on the door, yanked out the paper, and slammed it closed. Blaming the printer for the inconvenience and my lack of productivity, I headed back to my computer to try again.
And if I’m honest, I tend to do the same thing to God.
I plan workweeks, outings, vacations, parties, and more with little to no input from Him. I say yes to things I should say no to and no to things I should say yes to. Before I know it, my calendar is full with no margin for His divine appointments.
Jammed between life’s wall of demands and my self-imposed to-do lists, I block the flow of God’s ink in my life. I blame everything else for the inconvenience I have allowed into my life.
This year was going to be different. Armed with Psalm 90:17, I was determined to yank out the paper jams and allow God’s ink to pen my calendar.
That’s when the Grace For Today Planner was conceived.
With the ultimate goal of a surrendered calendar, this planner is designed for anyone who truly wants to take intentionality with God to a whole new level. Included in this 33-page printable planner are:
– FRONT, BACK, AND INSIDE COVER OPTIONS (MULTIPLE DESIGN OPTIONS AVAILABLE)
– UNDATED YEAR-AT-A-GLANCE
– YEARLY GOAL SHEET WITH SPACE FOR YOUR YEARLY BIBLE VERSE
For the past several years, I’ve asked the Lord give me one word – an area He would like to cultivate in my life. For me, that means finding an anchor verse and goals directly related to my yearly word.
– INDIVIDUAL GOAL WORKSHEET: WRITE THE STEPS, CHOOSE A VERSE TO PRAY FOR THE GOAL, AND ASSIGN A COMPLETION DATE
To establish these Godly goals, I break them down into small bite-sized actionable steps, choose a Bible verse, and assign a completion date (if applicable). It doesn’t have to be a perfect goal to be a powerful goal.
-MONTHLY GOAL MAPPING WORKSHEETS
– MONTH-AT-A-GLANCE: UNDATED MONTHLY VIEW WITH PLACE FOR WORKABLE GOALS AND NOTES
– WEEKLY MEAL PLANNER WITH SHOPPING LIST
Honestly, I don’t like to cook. Every year, I start off with a goal of spending less on going out to eat and preparing more. This weekly meal planner holds me accountable. It’s become my favorite sheet in the planner.
– WEEKLY PLANNER WITH DAILY OVERVIEW, PRIORITIES, TO DO, WEEKLY VERSE, LAST WEEK’S GRATITUDE, WEEKLY GOALS, AND MORE
At the beginning of the week, I sit down with my planner, combining my schedule with school functions and my husband’s schedule. I like being able to glance at the next seven days and know where my priorities will fall.
– DAILY PLANNER PAGES (LEFT & RIGHT) WITH MORNING, AFTERNOON, AND EVENING SECTIONS, PRIORITIES, CONTACTS, NOTES, AND PRAYER/PRAISE SECTION
The daily planner pages are used for my super busy days. On these days, life can be chaotic so finding time to pray and praise aren’t always on the radar. The prayer and praise section at the bottom reminds me that I’m never too busy to spend a few minutes writing out my thoughts.
– DAILY BIBLE VERSE TO WRITE A NEW VERSE EACH DAY OF THE WEEK
– PRAYER LIST: WRITE YOUR PRAYERS, CHECK THEM OFF AND DATE THEM WHEN ANSWERED
– AREAS OF PRAYER AND NAMES OF GOD
– BOOK LIST
– JOURNAL PAGE, EACH CONTAINING: THY WORD, BE LIFTED UP, AWAKEN MY HEART
Because we do not live on bread alone, these pages are designed to draw you into daily conversation with our Father without feeling overwhelmed. Choose one or two verses and write them down under Thy Word. You can copy them directly or write them in your own words. Psalm 100:4 says, Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. This form of worship opens the gates of communication and prepares our hearts to hear from the One we draw strength from. The next section, Be Lifted Up, is to do just that; praise and thank Him for who He is and what you learned from the passage of Scripture. Next, Awaken My Heart. What is the Father placing on your heart? What did the verses you read stir? This area is for you to pen your heart; nothing is off topic.
– SERMON NOTES: SECTION FOR WEEKLY APPLICATION
How many times have you sat in a sermon and felt His prompting only to forget what it was within hours of leaving? The weekly application is the perfect place for actionable items. Transfer it to your weekly at-a-glace under goals, notes, or top priorities to be reminded daily.
Well, that’s it! As we release our time to Him, we will see His hand moving through ours. We will see Him leading us by ways we have not known, along unfamiliar paths, turning the darkness to light and smoothing out the rough places (Isaiah 42:16).
Father, may the favor of the Lord our God rest on us as You establish the work of our hands for us!
His Blessings,
Esther
