It began in a mid-air battle to protect territory. Circling each other in a fight for dominance, one ascends higher in a daring attempt to gain the upper hand. Leveraging its position of perspective, this fierce eagle dives at speeds of 100 mph, pouncing and pulverizing its opponent. Much like the bald eagles, we too have a territory to defend. Though our battle looks different, we can learn from these mighty warriors of air: we must remain watchful, be keenly aware of predators, stand ready to defend our territory, able to fly above the battle for a heavenly perspective, and willingness to engage and re-engage the enemy. When we learn how to pray, we take that stand in the heavenly battlefield.
The value of persistent prayer is not that He will hear us, but that we finally hear Him. – William McGill

Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Luke 18:1-8

I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. This is awesome! The scripture backed prayer guide is so helpful. Especially during these times of concern with health and work. Thank you!
Prayer changes things but importantly it changes people.
Thank you for the resources on prayer. These are great starter points on teaching others about prayer
Prayer is Vital to our spiritual health and relationship witih the Lord. My favorite place to be is in the secret place, praying. I learned to pray when I had crisis after crisis hit my family when I first got saved. Prayer has been my life line to Jesus!
Praising with a humble heart was always difficult for me. I think God has finally recently shown me what it means to surrender my plans and control to Him through different difficult circumstances. I am realizing that prayer is so important in this process of realizing who my number one in my heart is, and that it’s not me. My thoughts, opinions, and planning are valid, but they will not always be the best… only God knows best… for me and for His kingdom. Thank you for sharing this!
This is such a sweet giveaway, well it would be very nice to learn more about prayer and have a great bible to learn with. Thank you 🙂
Thank you for encouraging us to pray as God commands and reminding us that he wants to fellowship with us through prayer.
As an Eastern Orthodox Christian, we have a short prayer to help us Pray Unceasingly as Paul States; it’s simply known as The Jesus Prayer:
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”
I have been constantly reminded about how important prayer is in my personal life these past couple of days. I believe this is God’s way of saying He desires more from me. Thank you for your article. I look forward to drawing closer to Him.
Prayer is so special. To be able to speak to the Lord anytime we wish, is a great blessing.
A powerful book that will absolutely change your prayer life is With Christ in the School of Prayer by Andrew Murray.
My son and my family need prayer right now more than ever.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful resource. I cant wait to share with others.
Prayer time is my favorite part of my quiet time. The time when I get to talk to my Father who fully knows and understands me. The time when I get to be my true self and lay it all down. Thank you for sharing more wonderful tips for prayer! They are truly appreciated!

I struggle with what to pray after I thank God for my life. I want to be able to pray for others so that when people are in need I just stop right there and pray for them.
Thanks for the reminder of how important prayer is!
What a great reminder and resource! So hard in our busy lives to Be Still…but so important to connect with God through prayer.
What an incredible resource on prayer. I’m wanting to make prayer a lifestyle in my daily walk and relationship with Jesus ❤️
Prayer is one of the best, two-way communication tool we have and its free, all we have to do is open our mouth, give it to god and as always wait and her His response back to us, it is our anchor to make it in this world..
Prayer is such an intimate communication with our Father in Heaven. It gives me the chance to tell Him about my day and what is going on in my mind that no one else gets access to. I know He knows all but I also know how I love hearing from my child and I believe that God wants to hear from me. Even though He knows He wants me to want to share my everything with Him. Thank you Gracious Father for wanting us, loving us and saving us.
Prayer is such a gift. It’s a gift God gave us to release and relinquish the cares and worries of this life. I definitely need to do better with prayer but I am so greatful for being able to cast my cares on Him, that cares for me, and the reminders He sends me when I forget.
Prayer has become such a beautiful way of spending time with my Father! The conversations we have are undeniably full of love!!!
I have struggled with prayer feeling like they never make it past the ceiling. I am learning to pray and accept God’s will for my prayers.
Prayer is our lifeline ❤️
Prayer is far too easy to forget or undervalue.
I love how Jesus provides the perfect example of coming to the Father in prayer alone! Such a great reminder!!
Prayer is such a gift! As a mother of 3 girls, prayer is my most powerful tool! Prayer changes things and allows us to truly hear God and see Him work alongside us in this life. Moms in Prayer ministry has changed my prayer life immensely and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to pray weekly with Moms in Prayer joining with other moms praying for our kids, school and teachers.
Prayer is the words that I cannot speak, and only God truly understands.
I have learned and continue to learn to pray!!! Prayers works miracles.
I can feel my anxiety lessen with prayer.
Prayer is a hard thing because we so often cannot see and never will know the effects of our prayers. We talk with God and He will sometimes answer and sometimes not. We will sometimes see the results but more often don’t. Because of this, prayer is often our greatest example of faith and trust in God because despite not always getting answers and despite not always knowing the outcome we do know that God does answer prayer, that prayer does change things and that it is one of our most powerful weapons we have. And it cannot be taken away from us.
Its always good to find resources tonhelp with prayer struggles and wonderful to hear how different strategies help others to inspire us thank you
Thank you for these prayer guidelines. I often feel self-conscious about prayer. But then I try to remember that prayer is essential to a pure, honest relationship with God. And, that is always my heart’s desire.
Prayer is your talk with the Heavenly Father who will never leave you. He understands everything and answers all prayers.
As a grandmother I feel it is very important to pray for my grandchildren daily as well as all the other members of my family. My country is important too for me to for. This past yr. I have been tfying to create a prayer journal to help with my prayer time.
Prayer is so many things. It is our praise & worship, it is our hearts cry, and our weapon against Satan. We forget that prayer is so much more than kneeling down by our bed at night. It is the thread that keeps us tethered to our Father. What an amazing gift He has given us to not only have his scripture but that He wants us to pray over, about, and with His own word!
First off, I LOVE these tips about prayer and I’m hoping that I can be more persistent in utilizing these tools for my prayer life.
Prayer is important. Its communication with god. Its good for us to talk with god and let it all out.
Prayer and prayer journaling have drastically changed my life! Thank you for providing these amazing scripture writing plans and all your other awesome resources!
I struggle to pray to God as I should. I always turn to Him to leave my pain because He, Jesus told us to give him our Him our burdens. I don’t always want to pray to Him and just give Him my burdens. I want to learn to talk to Him, know how to pray His scripture and be able to love others as He loves me.
This is wonderful. Thank you so much! God has answered so many prayers in my life. God is good!
Prayer is important but i have always struggled with this.I thank God that there is improvement now.
Prayer is my lifeline
I love how you mention that you can pray alone, with others, etc. I always thought that prayer had to be fancy or perfect, but now I know that it can be a conversation with god.
Thank you so much for the prayer tips. Prayer is so important. I try to make it a priority every day I’m sure I fail at times. I woke up one morning and I was an old woman, I get forgetful at times, but I never forget my Lord and the love he has for me. If I may take this time I’d like to request a healing prayer Please my husband and I were both tested for coronavirus today we have both been sick and it’s getting worse. We won’t get our results for two days. I am ready to accept whatever the Lord has in store for me.
I struggle a lot 😭 with praying. I don’t know how or what to say. I haven’t been a Christian for very long. I am still learning things.
How great is our God who created everything, proudly bends down from heaven to hear our prayer.
Confess your faults one to another, and PRAY one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent PRAYER of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5:16
I have been studying prayer for a long time and always feel like I have so much more to learn. One thing for certain – Consistency – talking with God every day is so important.
I struggle to make prayer a priority, I appreciate these resources and thoughts to help guide me on a path of growth
Thanks so much Esther for the prayer resources. I think the one think that has been most helpful to me in this season is the Prayer Cards for Uncertain Times. It has been so helpful having the Bible verses that support what we are focusing our prayer on so that we know we are praying within God’s will. Thanks again for this important ministry.
Prayer is something I want to get more comfortable with and be able to find the right words.
I have always struggled with prayer. but the times I have prayed and believed that prayer is powerful and works I have received healing or insight on things. Prayer is a very powerful weapon and tool that we need to use daily.
Oh if only I (we) could truly grasp that we GET TO talk and listen to the God who created everything! Wow! I really want/need to pray more.
To be honest, praying has been a crazy roller coaster for me. I have learned sooo much! As a pastor’s kid, I remember having to pray in front of the people and I had no idea what to say! Now, I have grown so much and pray with passion and faith in who I am talking to! I am talking to God! I am building something unmoveable with Him. Amazing blog. Thanks for sharing and letting yourself be used by God to reach many people online like me. God bless!
When I first accepted Christ fully in my heart. I thought prayer was made just for me just ask for things. I Knew I was to have his desires but did not know how to. I would ask for vague things or things that I thought might please him. At night I would say the same meaningless prayer just so I could check it off the to do list. I would study the bible an hour a day but not to learn who he was or how to apply it. i studies because thats what Christians I was told did. I would study history greek hebrew but forget to see where God was in each book of the bible. I did not understand that I could be mad and frustrated with the things he allowed but deep down I was mad at him and would not allow my mind to go there. I had a very fake relationship with him. once I found ou I could have all the emotions I had. I cried all night to him. I let things out that I was unaware I was still holding on to. Thankfully my kids were sleeping and my husband works 24 hour shift because I have never cried like I did until that night. once the sun risen I felt so much better. After that I have realized the importance of prayer and how much more we get out of it. I now have regular random conversations with him through out the day. I do still sit quietly most every morning and pray scriptures and praise him for answering the request I had just made. I do sit quietly and wait to hear his word. There are days I hear him right away and days that I don’t so I go back to worshipping and telling him all of my thoughts except the small things. I notice I don’t ask before I make a average purchase I don’t ask for perfection when the kids and I drive to the store down the store. There are so many small things I don’t ask for guidance. I used to not Pray before making my plans for the week. That just shows that more than I would Like to admit I pretend I am in Control. I think I am God. I had a hard, but good lesson on not going to our Creator Who is The all knowing God.
I still do this until finally I will Think of it or even my teenage son will ask did you Pray. The mornings that I don’t Spend time with God my family is able to tell that i didn’t.
We do not need the perfect prayer Our father knows our heart. The king of all kings wants to be able to have time with me. He knows my heart. I think I need to be more grateful for the oppurtunity to be able to talk to him & hear his word. We need to think of all the prayers he has answered. The miracles He Can do. We need to pray for the Impossible!
Prayer is definitely needed in this crazy world we live in!
I used to struggle so much with praying. Growing up we always prayed the same things “watch over our family, let us have a good day tomorrow.” things like that. I thought you could only tell God certain things. I didn’t think you were allowed to ask Him for guidance or ask Him for healing. I thought He only wanted to hear certain things. But then I went to a church and when I was asked what I pray about, I told them and they told me that I could tell God anything and everything. This opened a whole new world for me and since then I have been able to have a true relationship with God. I can’t even begin to describe how much my life has improved since then. I love being able to talk to God and feel like I’m talking to a friend. It brings me so much joy.
P.S. Love your posts, Esther and happy birthday! <3
Prayer is a free ticket to a healthy soul!!! Time spent with the Father cannot be trumped!!! Happy Birthday sister!!! God bless you and all you do!
Prayer helps me with unburdening my soul. I give my problems to the One that can fix them.
Prayer is a way of peace and comfort for yourself and those that you are praying for. I know that the Lord will hear and answer my prayers. Happy Birthday.
Prayer sustains me and is my most valuable way to deepen my relationship with Christ Jesus.
It’s hard for me to pray in front of others. I think of it as my time with God. If I’m having a bad day, I just start talking to Him and my perception changes. It’s not like my day gets better but I can handle it better. It helps to open my eyes to see things in a different perspective.
God has been teaching me lots about prayer lately. Especially the part about going alone. I struggle to want to pray if I go alone, but I am going to talk to my creator!! So I am not alone. Thanks for all your encouragement!!
Indeed – the power of prayer. I have recently started to wonder why so many of us today don’t expect the miracles of the past. If God saved the men in the fiery furnace and protected Daniel from the lions and parted the waters for the Israelites, then why do we think our prayers would have any less power? I say – keep up the prayer!
Prayer is a necessity of life.💗
