Like a submarine designed to explore the deep ocean floor, our faith was designed to explore the deep things of God. In order to submerge our lives in Him, we have to extend far below the surface of complacency into vivid intentionality. Going deeper with God is of great importance to the Father’s heart and to our walk. So let’s dive deep down!
Key Verse: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6
- Monday – He was physically parched, she was spiritually parched. The deep, empty wells we run to only leave us unsatisfied and wanting more. I don’ know if you feel like you’ve fallen in a well or your well has run dry, but I do know the Spring of Living Water; the quench to your thirst. What deep wells do you find yourself drawing from?
- She said to Him, Sir, you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep… John 4:11
- Tuesday – Is God calling you out into deep waters? Like Peter, sometimes God calls us into deep waters we’ve previously been unsuccessful in. But we may have to let down some nets of security to catch what He’s doing. Will we follow Him into deep water or sit on the shoreline of fear?
- When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Luke 5:4
- Wednesday – Jacob was persistent in his pursuit of God and he overcame. Many times our blessings are on the other side of passionately and patiently pursuing God. What one thing is holding you back from a deeper relationship with Him?
- But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” 28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome.” Genesis 32:26; 28
- Thursday – Using this verse, ask God for a deep faith that extends far below the surface of routine and complacency – a sincere cry for a deeper level of dependence on the Rock of Ages.
- The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” Luke 17:5
- Friday – Fashioned by the hands of God, we were made to reveal His glory to the world. One way to dive deeper with God and reveal His glory is through sharing your story with others. Ask God to reveal opportunities to boldly encourage others with what He’s done in your life. Your story is for His glory…and their good.
- I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isaiah 43:6-7
