Do you remember setting leaves and paper on fire with a magnifying glass? Two ingredients were needed: the sun and a magnifying glass. Powerful lightrays from the sun assembled in a laser show of heat, scorching whatever the magnifying glass focused on.
The power of praise works much like this phenomenon. As we choose to magnify Him, God’s summons His power, might, glory, and honor in a glorious laser show, setting ablaze our view of the obstacles and battles we face.
We are choosing to step into the eternal timeline of praise – a timeline that began with heavenly beings before creation and will continue into eternity with all believers. Your timeline is now; your invitation is here. This week, let us accept the invitation to step into our created destiny as worshipers declaring with our mouths the praises of our worthy King.
Key Verse: Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6
- Monday – Much like we were created to breathe, we were created to praise God. Praise rewires our thoughts, redirects our attention, and renews our joy. Be still before God, asking Him to give you a heart of worship. It’s a request He is sure to fulfill.
- Every day I will praise you and extol your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom. Psalm 145:2-3
- Tuesday – Praise reminds us of God’s greatness as an all-knowing and ever-present Creator. We begin to see His sovereign solutions, fervent faithfulness, powerful protection, unfaltering forgiveness, and everlasting love. Using this Psalm, praise the Lord and forget not all His benefits in your life.
- Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crown you with love and compassion. Psalm 103:2-4
- Wednesday – When we praise God, we leave no room for the enemy. Praise redirects our eyes onto our defender, drawing us into His presence. Worship is a weapon of great magnitude. Where have you left an “open seat” for the enemy to join you?
- May the praise of God be in their mouths like a double-edged sword in their hands. Psalm 149:6
- Thursday – Let’s face it when you’re going through trials, struggling through praise is probably the last thing you “feel” like doing. But this one act of sacrificial submission moves mountains of despair. Where do you need to weed out complaints and weave in praise?
- Through Him, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Hebrews 13:15
- Friday – Jehoshaphat didn’t send out his best, strongest warriors. He sent a “praise team” ahead of the battle, which set the stage for those following. Praise preceded the victory. Today, declare praise in the spiritual realm for what you have yet to see in the physical realm.
- “Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and praise Him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.” 2 Chronicles 20:21
No force can stand against the power of God. Praise is simply an agreement with that truth. Grab your free printable, and let’s declare the glory of our King!
