Your sufficiency, competency, and adequacy come from one source – Him. When we try to find our purpose outside of that, we are left with empty feelings of “not enough.” But as we focused on last week, you are beyond loved. Insecurities don’t define you. Let the beloved of the Lord (YOU) rest secure in Him.
Key Verse: Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long,
and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders. Deuteronomy 33:12
- Monday – When God sends us into unknown territory, it’s easy to think, “Who am I to ….?” Insecurities work overtime to keep our eyes focused on us rather than Him. But where God is calling you, He’s also preparing you, leading you, and enabling you. Where do you need to be reminded, “I will be with you?”
- But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” And God said, “I will be with you.” Exodus 3:11-12
- Tuesday – Chosen. Royal. Holy. Special. As God’s special child, holy and royal, you have the King’s signet ring of approval. Often the areas we perceive as inadequate are the very areas He chooses for advancing His kingdom. What would that look like for you?
- But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9
- Wednesday – When we compare ourselves to others, it’s hard to measure up. Like the Israelites, we shrink back in fear rather than advance in faith. Is there any area in your life where you are allowing comparison to keep you from advancing?
- We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” Numbers 13:33
- Thursday – God intentionally and wonderfully created you in His image, which is more than enough. What lies are you believing about being insufficient or inadequate? Spend some time praising Him for His wonderful works.
- I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14
- Friday – In the battle of life, He is the only shield that truly protects. He lifts high even the heaviest of heads. Is there an area in which you have created your own self-defense shield in an effort to lift your head?
- But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. Psalm 3:3
